I've been telling the stories of brands for a few years. Stories aimed at connecting audiences with those brands. Stories told in print, video, on stage, face to face and from afar. I use the data and insights from those brands to find the right stories for the audiences that matter to them. It's a great challenge and a privilege to work on these briefs and with the teams that help bring those stories to life.

Owner of Skeme, working with local and global clients creating crisp copy, compelling content, experiences and strategies for well known brands. Also working with Yakkazoo, an Australian agency as Strategy Director and Copywriter.

CMO, LUMI

January 2018 - January 2019

Lumi is a revolutionary creative collaboration platform targeting the screen production sector. This founding role was to develop the marketing plan, brand and assets to see them on their way.

DIRECTOR, BRAND AND CAMPAIGNS, NUIX

July 2014 - January 2018

Nuix is a world leading cybersecurity, investigation and eDiscovery software company. They were rapidly growing when I joined and in need of a brand refresh and help with their customer experiences and screen content. I also became involved with product development, UX and UI design.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR, GPJ AUSTRALIA

January 1998 - July 2014

Starting as a freelance graphic designer I worked for over 15 years at this global experience marketing powerhouse on some great brands like IBM, Adobe, Telstra, Nissan and VW. Roles included strategy, digital and creative direction. I also trained creatives in our AP offices and contributed to global initiatives and campaigns.

STRATEGY & WRITING

It starts with knowing. Stakeholder interviews, SWOT analysis, industry research and strategic insights to find the solution for business problems, then preparing and presenting the recommendations. Writing in all forms: short and long copy, scripts, reports, brochures and training material. Campaigns that kick, content that engages, ideas that draw an audience in.

CONCEPT & CREATIVE DIRECTION

From brief to the big idea. Brainstorming with teams or solo, concept sketching, research and review. Presentation preparation and pitching. Pre-production estimating to ensure a 'can-do' status. 

 

Working with the team to turn the idea to reality. Art direction and copy editing, photography, video and design direction. Then seeing it through - overseeing final artwork and print production and analysing the results.

EXPERIENCE MARKETING

Creating experiences to connect people with brands. From strategy, concept and audience generation to execution including creative direction, pre-production, agenda building, on-screen content, speaker training, calling show and stakeholder management. Executions have included corporate events, exhibitions, product sampling, fan activations and pop-up experiences.

NZ Certificate in Advertising and Marketing. One year full time, 2 years part-time and 3 years industry experience.

AFTRS, SCREENWRITING COURSE

Short course in screenwriting at the Australian Film Television and Radio School.
